Say it once.
It's written up.
Press the pendant, say what you noticed, carry on. TeacherTalk turns it into observations by child, the care diary, Tapestry-ready posts and EYFS evidence. No phone in class, no typing after hours.
Free for pilot schools · No phone in the classroom · Speak in any language
The pendant
One button. No screen. Nothing to look at.
A small pendant on a lanyard. Press it, say what you noticed, let go. It records on the device, so there is no phone in the classroom and nothing for the children to reach for.
- 1
Press, speak, release
A single button you can find without looking. A gentle buzz confirms it heard you.
- 2
Works with no phone nearby
Notes are stored on the pendant itself and hold for hours, so it works anywhere in the building, or outside.
- 3
Syncs in the staff room
When it is near your paired phone, a companion app pulls the notes over Bluetooth and uploads them.
- 4
Made for a classroom
Light, wipe-clean and quiet. Hang it on the lanyard you already wear.

One note, sorted
You talk. It files.
A single voice note can mention three children, a snack and a plan for tomorrow. TeacherTalk splits it up and puts each piece where it belongs.
“Mia counted to ten with the acorns by herself today. Leo had half his snack and a long nap. Oh, and Benji's mum asked about the trip on Thursday.”
Counted to 10 independently using acorns.
Ate half of snack. Slept 1h 10m.
Mum asked about Thursday's trip.
How it works
Three steps, no admin
- 01
Press and speak
The pendant hangs on a lanyard. Press, say what you noticed, release. It keeps hours of notes and needs no phone nearby.
- 02
It's organised
Each note is split by child, matched to the right name, tagged to the EYFS area and scored against your school's grid.
- 03
Share it
Copy posts into Tapestry field by field, send the daily checklist to parents and print report cards at the end of term.
In the classroom
Hands in the sand tray, notes still taken
Teachers tell us the best observations happen in the middle of things. The pendant is there for the moment, not after it.
The web app
Your whole class on one screen
Everything the day produced, sorted by the time you sit down. See who needs a second look, who is below target and what to draft next.
On your phone
Built for a pocket, not a desk
The phone is for afterwards. Answer a quick question from the inbox, check the day's checklist, open a child's profile before a parent chat. The pendant does the recording.
Everything a key person needs
From voice note to evidence
Observations by child
Every note lands on the right child's timeline with the EYFS area and aspect already tagged.
Care diary and daily checklist
Snacks, lunch, naps and toileting go straight into a grid you can share with parents in one tap.
Tapestry-ready posts
Drafts written in Tapestry's own fields, with a compliance grid that shows who still needs a post this week.
Progress and report cards
Item-level scores backed by evidence, half-term summaries and an end-of-year report card you can edit and print.
A memory for your class
It learns that “Benji” is Benjamin Clarke and that you're assessing counting this week, so you don't repeat yourself.
A pendant, not a phone
Phones are banned in many classrooms, and rightly so. The pendant records with one press and syncs through a phone later, in the staff room.
Posts and progress
Know who still needs a post before Friday
Three posts per child per week and every area covered within two weeks. The grid tells you where you stand; the drafts are already written.
One space per school
Teachers join with a code and share the same children, classes and memory. Teaching assistants included.
Any language
Speak in whatever language you teach in. The app and the posts it writes come in English or Portuguese, with more on request.
Your grid, your template
Score against your own assessment grid and print reports in your school's layout.
Data stays in Europe
Hosted in the EU, visible only to your school's teachers, and we sign a processing agreement with every school.
FAQ
Questions teachers ask
Does it post into Tapestry for me?
Not yet. Tapestry has no public API, so TeacherTalk writes each post in Tapestry's own fields and you copy them across with one tap per field. We're in touch with Tapestry about a direct integration.
We can't use phones in class.
That is exactly why TeacherTalk is built around a pendant. It has one button and no screen, so there is nothing to look at and nothing to scroll. Phones stay in the staff room, where they sync the notes.
How do the notes get from the pendant to the app?
The pendant stores recordings on the device. When it is near a paired phone, a small companion app pulls them over Bluetooth and uploads them. Nothing is sent from the classroom itself.
What happens when there's no Wi-Fi?
The pendant doesn't need any. It keeps hours of notes on the device, and the phone uploads them the moment it is back online. You never lose a note.
What if it gets a name wrong?
Anything it isn't sure about goes to a review inbox instead of a child's record. You confirm with one tap, and it remembers next time.
Who can see the notes?
Only teachers in your school. Each school is a separate space; nothing is shared between schools.
What does it cost?
It's free for pilot schools during the 2026/27 year. Pricing will be announced after the pilot.
